The ideal candidate will bring an unbridled passion and energy for serving the great citizens of Charlotte.
Charlotte is blessed with a vibrant downtown, excellent public schools and the City serves as the County Seat for Eaton County.
Downtown Charlotte is teeming with unique shops and eateries.
The community has a special affinity for history as the 1845 Courthouse can be seen at the south end of town.
Charlotte's neighborhoods are dotted with tree lined streets and several parks surround the community.
Visitors and residents marvel at the recreational opportunities at Crandall Lake.
Charlotte also boasts many festivals throughout the four seasons including the Nordic Festival, Eaton County Fair, Charlotte Bluegrass Festival, Frontier Days and the Eaton County Home and Business Expo.
In April 2020, the city adopted a Vision 2025 Strategic Plan.
Working with a team of community stakeholders, including participation from 25 different community/regional organizations, the city constructed a strategic plan around Seven Elements of a Healthy Community, Charlotte's next City Manager will play a pivotal role in implementing the recommended actions of the Plan.
The Charlotte City Manager will oversee an annual budget of $17,250,970 and a team of 50 full-time staff.
The Manager will report to a seven-member City Council elected with staggered terms.
The Mayor is directly elected by the residents.
The City Council is interested in meeting candidates who will build meaningful regional relationships, understand municipal finances and be visible in and around the community.
